Rapp Advertising was founded in 1952 by Angelo Rapp, and located in leased office space at 30 Walnut Street, Newark, NJ across from City Hall. The agency's first clients were Atlas Rapid Racks, a manufacturer of slip-on pipefittings, and Rex Industrial Sewing Machines. In 1955 the company purchased a row house on 30 Thirteenth Avenue, Newark, NJ, and in 1978 moved into leased office space at 999 Caldwell Avenue in Union, NJ. At this time all artwork was still prepared by mechanical paste-up of type galleys, airbrush retouching, painted illustrations, marker layouts and other traditional methods. In 1983 the company moved into leased office space at 30 Commerce Street, Springfield, NJ and converted to electronic graphics and information systems. The company expanded its space in 1986, and in 1999 purchased its 9000 sq ft building plus an adjacent property.
An advertising/PR agency cannot remain in business for 60 years without generating significant returns for long-term clients on a consistent basis
